The Angel PAWS Luncheon & Fashion Show raised more than $78,000 for the Humane Society of Broward County. The event’s theme was “a Walk on the Wild Side” and chairs Susan Smith, Carolyn Lee and Shawn Smith-Myers made sure the event’s guests were fully immersed in an atmosphere designed to look and feel like a jungle. One of the more popular elements of the event was the auction, where a range of gently used designer handbags, shoes, jewelry and the like were available. Guests could also purchase keys for the chance to unlock display cases to win products, and a GCI “Instinct” Ladies Quartz Watch was the prize of a special drawing held for attendees. The Humane Society also created a mobile adoption area where guests could cuddle and play with the dogs, and two lucky pups were adopted by the end of the evening.
