Follow That Turtle!
Summertime Moonlight Sea Turtle Walks, 401 SW 2nd St., 954.713.0930, mods.org
The turtles are on the move again. Bring the family out to the Museum of Discovery and Science for an incredible evening of learning about sea turtles, and then venture over to Fort Lauderdale Beach with the group for a stroll to discover a sea turtle answering the call of the sea. If weather permits and you’re lucky, you could even see a 300-pound female Loggerhead sea turtle take to the beach to lay her eggs in the same location she hatched from as a baby. (MODS cannot guarantee a sea turtle spotting during your moonlit walk – they know about science, but even they aren’t that good.) Choose from the following dates and call in advance to reserve your spot: June 7 to 9, 14 to 16, 21 to 23, 28 to 30, and July 5 to7 and 12 to 14. Prices are $18 for members and $20 for non-members.
